Back to the Wild Rehab is funded solely by donations. Each and every cent goes directly to the care of the wildlife brought to us by people like you. There are no government or public funds for the animals in our care. Indeed, a provision of the Wildlife Custodian Appointment set forth by the State of Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection Wildlife Division states in number eight of that document that "the custodian assumes full responsibility for all expenses relating to the proper care of said animals.
There are no salaried workers at this location. All animal care, building and maintenance of indoor and outdoor housing are volunteered. The donations received are spent on feeding, housing, medical care and supplies, and the necessary amenities to provide adequate care for the wildlife patients. You can be assured that your donation will be spent on the wildlife which so desperately needs our help.
